I love this place. Pontiac is my home. The 90s were so great and friendly. Now we've got high school kids shooting each other over a game of dice. People I went to school with getting in gang fights and making trouble. Not a night goes by that I don't wonder if that gunshot in the distance was the end of someone's life. Will I see it on the news tomorrow? Was it someone I know? Someone who lived an honest life? Was it someone with a family? A lot of friends? Did they make a good impression on everyone they met? Montonez was that kind of person.
And the people with the blood on their hands? What about them? You know the dude who shot him looks like someone I could have gone to school with? My age.. I'm sad. Sick and sad from hearing about people losing their sons and daughters, their mothers and fathers, their sisters and brothers, their family, their friends, their love of their life, all from violent acts of people who didn't have the brain capacity to THINK about what they're about to take away from people. From the world. Their own fate. The suffering they're causing everyone else... I'll never understand. But for those of you who know of someone who could possibly be falling into a dark place like that... Please help them get out of it. They need your wisdom. They need guidance. They need someone to teach them the value of a life as well as the value of their own.
For those of you that I know, I'm happy to know you. For those of you I haven't met yet. I look forward to making a good impact on your life. For those that I will never meet, I love you. And everyone ripped painfully from life before their time...I miss you. So SO much....
Stop the violence. Stop the hate. Encourage a brighter outlook on life. Inspire it within everyone you meet. Help people. I PROMISE YOU, you'll get it back in return. Then maybe these streets will look like the place we grew up once again. Maybe better. ...Wouldn't that be somethin'?

IN MEMORY OF MONTONEZ. I hope your life was full of enough happiness for a thousand lifetimes.

What inspiring words. I'm sorry for your loss. Change can be a sad thing to see over time.
